The Start of a New Semester

Happy start-of-a-new-semester, everybody!

Today is the day before the spring 2011 semester starts at IPFW.  I am excited to be a supplemental instruction leader again this semester.  As many of you know, last semester I picked up the BIOL-203 S.I. in the middle of the semester.  It took a little while for me to get in the swing of things, but I think we eventually got into a pretty good groove.  This semester I will be leading the BIOL-204 supplemental instruction that goes along with Professor Shannon's class.  I will be doing things in much the same way, but I am going to try utilizing this blog instead of emailing everybody.  I believe it will be a more efficient way for me to communicate with you, with a few added bonuses.

I am exploring all the possibilities on doing things this way, so bear with me.  My first test is to make sure I can add a link to the documents I want to have available for you.  So let's give this a shot.  Can you guys open these files.....

If that works ok (which I hope it will!) then I think this will be a great way for me to get the information for my supplemental instruction sessions to you, and you will be able to check here for the latest information.  Please let me know of any thoughts or suggestions that you may have regarding this.

I hope that everyone had a nice break and is rested and ready to go for this new semester.  I have to admit that my break was relatively peaceful and lazy.  I am taking 13 credit hours this semester as well as attending Professor Shannon's BIOL-204 class (the 1:30-2:45 p.m. Tues./Thurs. lecture) and leading the supplemental instruction sessions that go along with it.  I am still awaiting my finalized days and times for S.I.  As soon as I get those, I will post them here, and I will also have Professor Shannon post them on her website.  From what I understand, they will begin the week of January 17th.  I am looking forward to helping you all do the best that you can in this class, and I hope to see many of you attending the S.I. sessions!
